Though every baby is a miracle of life, some miracle babies have had a much tougher journey. In honor of those who have weathered through the ups and downs of their miracle baby's journey to life.
When I initially meet with couple, I always tell them to think about the engagement session more like a date and less like a photo session. The season of being engaged is such a short time, in the context of this beautiful long journey of your marriage. Someday, you will look back fondly on these memories and be reminded of where it all began; the beginning of a commitment and the beginning of your new family.
That's why I usually suggest picking a location, or activity, that is special to you as a couple. Jess and Jacob decided to have their session in the Upper Peninsula, since this was their destination for family vacations as kids. Tragically, Jess's dad passed away when she was very young. The UP was his favorite place to be, so what held a special place as years of family vacations, has now become a sentimental place of nostalgia. Not only are these photos special because they will preserve this special season of life for Jess and Jacob, but it was a way to include her dad in the wedding celebrations and honor his memory.
